About Sara
Contemporary jazz vocalist and composer.
Sara Decker is an award-winning jazz singer and composer whose music combines modern jazz/pop sounds with the art of improvisation. Her subtle yet warm vocal style, impressive vocal range and ability to connect with the emotional content of the songs have earned her numerous awards and scholarships.
She studied jazz vocals and composition at the Conservatory of Maastricht and as a Fulbright Scholar at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, completing her Master of Music cum laude.
In 2017 she received second place at the Shure Montreux Jazz Voice Competition and in 2018 performed with the Academy Band under Bugge Wesseltoft, opening for the Chick Corea Trio.
Today, she brings her songs to the stage with different line-ups.
